About Me
WELCOME TO THE MEAL CRAFT
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
Hi! I’m Sarah, the person behind this blog. I’m a 44-year-old mom, wife, and homegrown cook based just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. I don’t have a culinary degree or restaurant background. I’m just a woman who fell in love with cooking because I had to, and then because I wanted to.

Crafting Recipes with Heart!
Why I Created The Meal Craft
My journey into the kitchen began during a particularly chaotic chapter of life, new baby, tight budget, no time. I remember standing in my little apartment kitchen, baby on my hip, pot boiling over, hoping dinner wouldn’t end in a bowl of cereal again. That’s when I started to experiment. Slowly, I discovered that cooking could be joyful, even when it wasn’t perfect. It became my way of bringing comfort and care into our home.
I started this blog to share what I’ve learned because I believe anyone can cook a good meal even on a tight schedule. My recipes focus on simplicity: one-pot meals, slow cooker staples, and 20-minute miracles that keep the family happy and the cook sane. I’m here to help you build confidence in the kitchen, no matter where you’re starting from.
What You’ll Find Here:
The recipes you’ll find here are all about real-life cooking. Think: short ingredient lists, minimal prep, maximum flavor. I’m a fan of shortcuts that work and meals that come together without stress. I believe food should be approachable, delicious, and fit into your life not the other way around.
Who This Blog Is For.
This blog is for anyone who’s ever looked at the clock and realized dinner should have happened 30 minutes ago. It’s for overwhelmed parents, hesitant beginners, and even seasoned cooks looking for a new twist. Everyone’s welcome here, no matter your experience or dietary needs.
Types of Recipes.
You’ll find recipes for weeknight dinners, slow cooker meals, comforting pastas, simple breakfasts, family favorites, and the occasional sweet treat. I also share kitchen tips, time-saving tricks, and step-by-step guides for getting meals on the table without the chaos.
Outside the kitchen, I’m a lover of quiet mornings with coffee, local farmers’ markets, and long walks with my rescue pup, Daisy. My favorite season is fall, and I have a deep appreciation for fuzzy socks and a warm loaf of banana bread.
